Music Ministries

We’re pleased to have a number of wonderful worship ministries at St. Bride’s and opportunities to get involved. If you love music as much as we do and would like to participate, please contact the church office and let them know about your area of interest. We’re always looking to welcome more voices to our teams.  Please contact Arthur McGlashan for more information about our Music Ministries at St. Bride's.

St. Bride's Choir

The Choir is made up of a group of committed worshippers who have a passion for praising Jesus through song. Members of the Choir minister once or twice each month at the 10 a.m. service. They are also invited to sing on special occasions and during Advent, Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter.  The Choir has rehearsals on Thursdays at 7:30pm during September to June.

Praise Team

The Praise Team leads contemporary worship music on the third Sunday of the month at the 10:00 a.m. service and occasionally at other times. If you love to worship God with music, and sing or play an instrument, please consider joining us. Reading music is helpful but not required. All ages welcome!

Dublin Choir Trip

The choir will be singing Evensong each day in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin from July 17 - 23, 2023 and also will be singing the Eucharist Sunday morning on July 23. Each day for Evensong the choir will sing a different setting of the Canticles (Magnificat & Nunc Dimittis) along with an anthem, a chanted Psalm, and the Versicles & Responses (over 20 different pieces of music will be sung during the week).

During the summer months, the choir of the Cathedral takes a well deserved break from singing each day, allowing visiting choirs like St. Brides to lead the music of the service.

Choir members will pay for their own travel and accommodation costs, but we will also be undertaking several fundraisers to help offset some of the ancillary costs.

If you have a love for church music and want to experience the opportunity to sing in a magnificent Cathedral each day, you are welcome to join.

Bell Choir

The Ontario Guild of English Handbell Ringers (OGEHR) applied for a Trillium Grant in order to purchase hand chimes as a way to introduce them to more congregations. St. Bride’s is blessed to have the hand chimes on loan to us for one year, and we will also be having three-four sessions with a clinician to learn more about the proper way to play the chimes. Next spring we are invited to ring in a mass choir along with the other churches who are part of this program.  We hope to get more people to join the Bell Choir and have the opportunity to play both the bells and the chimes.
